Any advice on my loan case?

I want to get some advice on my present situation. This has been half year but I still couldn't have it closed. Sorry about the long story.

I had a closing date on 7/8 this year. Since this is my first time to buy home, I didn't know I needed to bring bank checks to the closing until 7/7. I got online checking account so I was not able to get bank checks myself. I asked two friends to help me the same day and wrote them checks. Unfortunately the bank refused to give me the loan the last minute on the closing date for low appraisal. So I sent the bank checks back to my friends and they wrote me the checks and I cashed them out immediately.

Now I am in the last step to get it closed with BoA. The only thing that they need is my friends' statements showing these two transactions because they need to confirm ny friends "had the ability to pay me back". I have provided all my statements to the bank showing every detail, and an LOE explaining everything. and my friends refused to give me their statements. So we got stuck.

So my questions is: is it reasonable to ask for such statements because these checks have already been cleared for two months, and my account has shown everything clearly? What should I do? My loan agent is not helping much.
