It seems that rent prices are continuing to fall as are vacancy rates

It's hard to imagine home prices going up anytime soon. And with such attractive rent prices on houses right now, it may be a lot less risky just to rent that house of your dreams. What do you think? |

I think it depends upon the area. In the northeast, things have stabilized and are already starting to head in an upward direction. |

| Rent in my area is pretty high but I live in a high income area in the NE. I still think buying is the better option. Hopefully I'll be able to stop renting soon. |

| Falling rent prices will pressure housing value for sure, but the main downward pressure will be because housing is still overvalued in many areas. |

I read an article a few days ago that said housing values are expected to drop at least another 5% because the market is saturated and so many homes are still coming into foreclosure.
It feels like my area is pretty solid, or at least not in enough trouble for rent to start dropping regardless of this information. |
