Hello all-
A key figure in the mortgage/ housing debate just released his statement yesterday calling for a 7 month extension of the current $8000 1st time homebuyer tax credit that is set to expire Dec. 1st. This is good news, and hopefully will get the extension granted.

From what I have seen around here, there is some minor pickup in P&S contracts signed, but not what we all thought it would be. We need that extension.

Curious how you've seen the traffic pick up in other areas of the country. Thanks,

Ken L.

On a somewhat similar note, the current stamp duty scheme in the UK whereby the nil rate band is increased to £175k comes to an end shortly, with any luck the government will reconsider this and maintain the band increase.
