Kerala the land of coconuts and spices is also a major player in the economics and IT industry of the country. The entire state Kerala is just a narrow strip of coastal land sandwiched between the Arabian Sea and Western Ghats. Cochin is a coastal city and a major contributor to the economics of the state. The city of Cochin is undergoing a major upheaval in terms of development in various fields. The future of this place is very optimistic.
However, the city has a major shortage of available land for further development. Cochin real estate is a highly volatile though booming market. It is in this current scenario where the importance of high-rise builders becomes apparent.
The scarcity of land has created an impact in the minds of the people of Kerala. Constructing and owning a home has always been the dream of every Keralite. A single or double storied house surrounded by spacious cultivatable land was part of the aspiration of every family. However, changing priorities and the steep rise in land value along with the hopes of benefits from community living have changed the shape and content of a Malayalees’ dreams.
A number of major builders have come up with a numerous apartment projects catering to the varied needs of the people. In a city like Cochin, the prospective owners are not merely the current residents but also those who wish in some near future to settle in Cochin. A good number of these non-resident Cochin Apartment owners are merely investors. The favorable changes in Foreign Direct Investment have also added contributed to the trend in investment. |
