The Council of Mortgage Lenders released new data stating that the number of mortgages for house purchases increased by 4% in February. 9,400 of the 24,300 loans for purchases were for first time buyers who are making a return to the housing market.
The average mortgage loan for a first time buyer was £95,000, down from £97,000 in January, and currently at just under 3 times income. |
