Its almost 2009 . As many people are looking for alternative ways of getting more website traffic for their business, the trend toward Social Networking has become a very popular way for people of like-minds to both communicate and share ideas and opportunities.
Just as this site caters to the real estate and lending markets, it provides an avenue for people to establish a place within the Social Networking Community. There are many established Social Networks which means there is something to meet everyone's interests, desires and needs.
Two of the most popular are MySpace and Facebook with up and coming Twitter.com and VidEngage.com
Social Networking also makes the internet experience more personal as well as exciting and fun. "Success in Social Networking through Branding Yourself" will provide an avenue for you to establish your place within the Social Network Community and also the ability to maintain your place by ‘Branding' yourself.
A Social Network Community can become your ‘business partner' online. I use it in my lending and also my network marketing business.
People meet, greet and become friends; participate in community events, volunteer to help others in the community who may be new and trying to find their way around. Dialog with community members is provided through forums and online chat; and just as in any other community there are business people who have products and services to offer, that people in the community need, desire or want; so they put up their 'Personal Storefronts' and let people know who they are. As they establish themselves over time they develop a ‘name' or ‘brand' for themselves, and now everyone in the community knows who they are.
In getting into the community they must establish themselves and make themselves known. This is generally done through some form of advertising such as setting up your links, adding an opt-in form, adding a page about YOU as a person... your hobbies, interests, etc.
"As any independent Realtor or Mortgage Broker, or a self employed online small business owner, one of the most challenging tasks is marketing "YOU". You know how to do what it is you do really well ...you now can offer value to people 24/7, 365 days a year.
"The important thing to understand is that right now is the best time to start building an personal branding system. It almost the new year and time to set goals.
I guarantee there are people out there searching the web for "YOU" and what you offer".
Discover your own Personal Brand and start promoting YOU....
Good Luck!

Great post Scott.
There are some really good ways to successfully market “you” online. One of the things we have seen a lot of success with is blogging. Blogging not only helps SEO and brings traffic to your site, but also positions you as a subject matter expert. When a potential client sees that you have a mortgage blog that you contribute to regularly they think, “man, this guy really knows what he is talking about”.
I recommend that if you have the capabilities to have a blog on your own site do it, but if not there are some great sites you can join and do it there. The 2 best I have seen thus far are www.ActiveRain.com and www.WannaNetwork.com. |
