Do all mortgage companies pull credit within 30 days of closing? My credit was pulled about 30 days ago but now I am within 23 days of closing, my broker did not tell me this and I have opened a few new credit lines since then which are not showing yet, should I ask him to pull it tomorrow or is this a myth? I am in MN and am doing an FHA 3% down.

How many times have they pulled your credit now? Typically it's pulled once for approval purposes. Were they hoping it had improved? What was the reasoning behind it?

They have only pulled it once and my mid score was 642 which was fine and I only had one medical collection from 2004 which is really an issue between the hospital and the insurance company. Then I had a friend who told me she lost her house because her credit was pulled 10 days before closing and she freaked me out. I have opened a couple of new lines since they pulled my credit in late July to buy furniture and stuff but my DTI was only 20% including the house and I have only spent 2K.

You should be fine. They may have made a mistake with her loan, possibly spelling her name wrong or having a digit off on her social...These are reasons why they would have to re-pull her credit. Your credit report is good for 90 days. So try and rest easy, you should be fine. 8) good luck!
