I just closed on a forclosure on the 11th of july. I bought the house as-is and have moved in. Now the mortgage company says that since the house is missing a tub and a stove that I have to put them in and get the house re-inspected. None of this was in the closing paperwork and the house was bought as-is. I was told that the loan compliance person is requesting this be done. The house appraised for $30,000 more than the loan amount and I put more than 20% down. Can they add stipulations after the closing. I don't understand. As far as I am concerned the house is mine as long as the payments are made and I use it as my primary residence. It is a 3 bed 2 1/2 bath, It is just me.

Most likely a county point-of-sale requirement for an occupancy permit. Remember the old phrase "I'm from the government and I'm here to help you".

Well I just spoke with my lawyer and my realestate person and both said that if it not in the closing paperwork it is not valid. They told me to ignore the calls and e-mails and let it go. I have three toilets four sinks and a tub and a shower. Go figure....

If you purchased the house as owner occupied then they have the right to foreclose if you do not fix the house to pass an occupancy permit.
