Hi everyone, I hope there is some great knowledge and experience with mechanic liens. My friend has had a completely fraudulent and ficticious mechanic lien placed on his property by his ex-wife and another by one of her family members. The ex-wife's should be removed by the court with an emergency hearing this week, but the family member's is more difficult. He has had difficulty selling the property anyways and finally has a buyer who was scheduled to close last week, now the title has been clouded. Is there any legal remedy out there for immediate action, waiting the 90 days means he will lose the sale. Also, the threat of civil action and monetary damages has no pull since the lien filers have no assets. Help.
