My husband and i look for 2 houses 2months ago, it is 2 family house for my inlaws too. One house is $203,000 and the other one is 200,000, we chose the 200,000 and made an offer,$500 deposit, since it is a subject to short sale we waited 2 months. A week ago friday our broker called that the bank want 10,000 more im kinda confuse i didnt like but the broker said i will pay the same coz interest rate is down i said ok. But he told me now i need to pay $60 more amonth.
This Wednesday I was looking online the house that we saw 203,000 drop into 180,000 it made me change my mind I called the realtor and told him i dont agree with the 10,000 more i will still get it if it 200,000 he said the bank will going to accept the offer maybe this friday, for 200... he was upset and told me I can get sued for that. IS IT TRUE THAT WE CAN GET SUED FOR NOT GETTING THE HOUSE ANYMORE? Today I got a call from the broker he told me that the papers are ready to sign for 210,000. Any comments and sugestion about this matter is appreciated thank you. |

if you did not sign for 210K you are not in any trouble your offer if I understand was for 200K not 210K sounds like they are trying to push you a bit.

Refer to contract law -- counter offer. Interesting since it wa verbal (real estate transactions must be in writing). NOT LEGAL ADVICE but get your $500 back with releases. Shame on your for not putting a time limited for acceptance of your offer. More accurately shame on the Realtor who supposedly know what (s)he is doing.
More than likely getting out of your offer will probably not be a big deal but usual cavaets -- seek legal advice |

| Doesn't really sound like your real estate agent knew what he/she was doing in this situation - if the issue doesn't resolve itself then you should definitely seek legal advice. |
