Okay, after reading an article in the Economist and Money about renting being a better choice for many. Even Alan Greenspan said there may be property bubbles in certain areas. If you look at the difference in cost of renting versus buying here...
....you can see that there is an unprecedented difference, and the idea there may indeed be a bubble in my mind is quite valid. Also, for a first time home buyer that may not even stay in their home for 5 years, there is reason to believe that houses are over priced right now, so equity gain may not be as high as people have experienced in the past.
