| E.T. says: The best leads come from your own sites. I get 5-8 per day. Exclusive. |

Very true. However, paying for leads isn't a bad idea if you haven't got your own coming in yet. The only problem, as we all know, is it's almost a rarity to find an honest lead broker out there. Hate to say it but it's true, isn't it?
What is the first thing an LO thinks when approached by a lead broker?
"Is this guy/gal/company legit or not?" |

| I was thinking that it's more along the lines of 'how do I get this twit off my phone?' |

|

I'd say I agree with the perception of lead companies being legit & truthful is the most asked question... "Are they going to burn me?"
The trick is to find a lead provider that offers other services too. For example...
When you have a company that is trying to establish a long term business relationship such as Credit Reporting and/or Title & Escrow, they might (and they do) give access to certain types of leads as a perk for using their other services.
If you have a lead on the phone, its turning into an app... You pull credit
If you have taken that lead all the way to closing... You need Title & Escrow
It makes sense. |

| Theres always that friend of a friend that sells leads and you get burnt on. I am rather new in this business and would like to buy leads but what should i be expecting from a well known company such as lending tree, National mortgage, Country wide, Etc, etc.... how well of a reputation do these other house hold names hold up on the leads they provide? |

I Wonder if a lot of those companies that supply leads don't watch to see how well there leads perform.
And if they perform well then are they not going to take advantage of a good situation, and use those leads them selves instead of supply you. |

I'm not sure I follow your post... Could you clarify?
I Wonder if a lot of those companies that supply leads don't watch to see how well there leads perform.
To reply to what I THINK you said... :D
Our company does provide mortgage leads of all varieties, but when we have a client sign up in our credit reporting & title & escrow services we can see the full circle from prospecting, to application & credit pull, to ording the title & closing the loan.
*************
And if they perform well then are they not going to take advantage of a good situation, and use those leads them selves instead of supply you.
I really don't understand this one...??? |

| i think the best way to buy leads online is to find a company that is pay-per-lead with no time commitment. And has a person to talk to everytime you call who can give you credit for bad leads, who just handles your account. Is this too much to ask? |

The best way to buy leads on line is to (buy local)so you know where the physical office is. That way when you are scammed, you know where to send the small claims summons to.
Although I have been known to show up in person.
And have the other scammed mortgage brokers with me. |

Everything previously mention is very important to look for in a lead generation company. I am going to be upfront and honest, I work for a company selling internet leads and I am posting not to generate business for myself or my company, but to better the understanding of the idea of internet generated leads. there are a lot of "Hacks" out there looking for a quick buck even if that means a "catch and release relationship."
I am open to hear criticism about internet generated leads and hopefully through good discussion I can help remedy the idea of internet generated leads so that the first thing that comes to mind when some one mentions "internet generated" is not a mouthful of slanderous remarks :)[/quote] |
