This bulletin announces that on February 2, 2005, the Comptroller of the Currency issued "OCC Guidelines Establishing Standards for National Banks' Residential Mortgage Lending Practices." These guidelines are to further the OCC's goal of ensuring that national banks don't get involved in predatory, abusive, unfair, or deceptive residential mortgage lending practices. The guidelines become effective 60 days after appearing in the Federal Register.
