It seems crazy, but when I look on Ebay there are all sorts of land deals going on:

There are all sorts of listings for under $1000, though locations are places like Arizona and Western Texas. Are these people crazy or is there good stuff to be found here?

I would think that if I were to buy property, I might want to see it in person first. Just a thought. Hell, they've tried to sell souls on E-Bay before!

Ebay aside for a moment...is there such a thing as investing in land for less than $1000? I mean, doesn't land almost always go up in value?
I would want to see it too.

I don't know where you could find land for that type of price. It's $30K an acre where I live, and that's in a remote area of Northern CA. Sounds too good to be true.

I could be a MAJOR skeptic here, but keep in mind that the land needs utilities and water, to be habitable. The areas I looked at on the eBay ads are near reservations in AZ. One of the saddest facts of life is that many of the reservations still do not have electricity/phone service. In addition, land requires legal ACCESS in the form of roads of some kind, that is unless you are counting on finally building that dreamed of 'helipad' on your property!!!

I figured it was something like this. I guess that means there isn't even a way to get to what you purchased. If it's only $1000, it might be cool to build some camping facilities and host a Burning Man festival. :D
