First off, hi everybody! My name is Andres I a mortgage broker / Marketing manager out of the New Hampshire, Mass area. Im new to the forum...
By far referrals, with out any question is the best source of leads!
But for those who are still using telemarketing as a tool as for leads or managing telemarketers....
What scripts are you using?
I just took on been manager for the marketing department , I have 9 telemarketers ( 4 experience 5 new ) I have managing experience but Im a rookie with mortgages,
The min quota is 5 while I have a 2 telemarketers who get 15 20 leads a week,Im trying to bring everyone else up to par
Iv giving them a few scripts but it just isn’t working!
I tell them to keep it short!
With a simple introduction, then a quick introduction to what we do, and at that time you know if they are interested or not
Not working to well
But any one willing to offer a good working script
Or some tips |

A good script is key to generating leads. Although I will not give you our script (took us over 2 years to perfect with rebuttals) there are a few pointers, some of which you already pointed out.
- Keep it short and to the point. Most of the time you will know if the person is interested or not in the first 5 seconds.
- Let the customer know in the first 3 sentences what you can do for them. You cant just say I want to refinance your house and you will be better off. Tell them you can save them money or get rid of their debt. Be very careful when pitching rate.
- If you get someone interested don't start off asking the personal questions such as SSN or DOB. This could kill the lead. Start with the easy stuff and start to build a relationship with the customer. Once they feel comfortable with you they will give you the personal stuff by the end of the phone call.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

I think it might be helpful for the poster to post the actual script to see if it can be tweaked.
My experience, scripts are too long, no matter how short we think they are, they are still too long. |

| The script is also a constant work in progress, you may never "be there"...What works today may not work tomorrow in a changing, saturated, market...You know what can be helpful sometimes, take one of those telemarketed calls that come to you and pay attention to the script and how it's laid out, maybe you can find things you liked in theirs to add to yours! Good luck! |
