What motivates you to do the things you do? What motivates you to be successful?
My Answer: God and my loved one. |

| I am extremely self-driven. I don't currently have any outside influences to push me forward every day. However each and every day I wake up and think about the things I've accomplished for people, and that makes me feel great :) |

| Kind of corney, but doing a good job motivates me. I am a Leo, I like praise and being noticed. Doing a good job is a way to get those rewards. Then, there are the usual motivators, house, kids, car, but not in that order. |

LEO's... One of my bestfriends is a LEO and he's the type of person that needs to be a leader at all times. |

My daughter.
Private schools cost a lot of money.
She seems to need new clothes every week.
I'm also driven by a very strong desire to remain independent. Corporate life and me mix like oil and water. |

I had to think about this for a while because unless you know me well, you wouldn't understand what I'm about to say. (but what the heck)
I'm a mortgage nerd. I work for the FHA Resource Center. HUD finally answered many of our wants and needs for a place to call-borrowers and lenders-to get help with questions about many of the lending issues and programs.
My first thought was-I can get paid to actually do what I do online for free? (It's a challenge, because we can't give you an opinion, we can just give the information, and guide you where to find more-but it is a step forward.)
Satisfaction is when some one calls in who spent hard earned money to go to some expensive workshop only to find out they were buying books, and got no personal service or any decent advice-and the books were just full of outdated stuff.
Then they call in from a radio ad, and ask if there is a charge for talking to us...I get to say, "NO-this is a free call, what do you need to know?" I can email or mail or just tell them what they need to know. Satisfaction is hearing a future homeowner who's dug themselves out of the deep hole of thinking they would never be able to buy a home-take one more chance, and call- This motivates me to go to work when I've not had a lunch break in 9 days, and have more paper piled on my two desks, and in a hard drive, and email, to go through- than a whole team of professional wall paper hangers could use in 5 years of 10,000 sq ft custom homes!!! (covering every wall surface in the home!)
I also get a kick out of the people who call around all day or for days- trying to find out if the "offer" for a UFMIP refund is worth spending money on to see if they have one-and then paying someone to fill out the form for them? Or the person who's been offered a job to be a "tracer" and pay money up front to get a list of people who are due refunds when it's in plain view on line.
Just about the time I'm ready to throw in the towel and go back to writing commercial loans full time-I get pulled on the phones to help the staff, and I get calls like these.
It hits my soft spot. I'm helping people.
That is what motivates me. :D |

It's such a cool thing to able to mka e a living helping people, especially if you really enjoy what you do. Me: I'm so paranoiod that I assume that most people are not very nice, and don't really deserve my help. Yep, I'm paranoid.
I think it would great to be like a Michael Moore: running around making documentary films, and making many millions of dollars doing it. :) |

How does one decide if someone deserves anothers help? Do you have a conversation with them or have a checklist?
I would think we should give everyone a fair shot and then if they are someone that is unreasonable or cruel or part of something unlawful then we could choose not to help them.
I always hope to find the best n people and for the most part, and blessed with strong relationships both personal and professional. |

No, not at all. I help people all the time, people who I am certain deserve my help. But helping strangers is a very different matter.
The idea of helping someone who I later find is a complete nazi of an individual is very offensive to me. |
