Has anyone used Avant Lending for a home mortgage?
Any positive or negative feedback?
Their rates seem to be much lower than other lenders. |

I have not heard of them.
I would certainly suggest caution when seeing rates drastically lower than others. Often this is the way they "get you in". Then you find the deal wasn't as good as you thought.
It would certainly help if you can find references, and it never hurts to check with the BBB. |

| David is right. Check all the fees and any adds. If it is too good to be true than it usually is. But do your homework and remember the more you learn the less chance you have of getting married to a loan for a long time with a higher rate than necessary. As the markets tightens up the deals will get better. Also make sure you have good credit and are doing a standard loan ( 95 LTV or less, appx 620 credit, Etc. ) or it gets very difficult to get the right rate once you go outside the box. I do not know what they are quoting but now a 6.125 on a 30 year fixed for no points or Origination fee is the best you probably will get. Remember though at times I have seen a local (hometown ) bank offer a good deal if they are keeping it inhouse. (you make your payment to them). But that is usually the exception not the rule. Hope some of this helps. |

Thanks for the feedback.
Avant is saying they can offer 5.875% for a 30 year fixed. But, the fees are not clearly broken out in detail.
We will proceed with caution. |
