There will be a lot of opportunities in South Florida for refi's and rebuilds in the coming months once homeowners discover how lame their insurance coverage is and how disfunctional FEMA can be. As a matter of fact, you know a true Florida resident if they have FEMA's number on their speed dialer. Or if their pantry contains at least 20 cans of Spaghetti-O's. Or if they're on a first name basis with the cashier at Home Depot. Or if they tell you their patio furniture looks better on the bottom of their pool. Or if your battery powered radio is now considered a home entertainment center. Or having a tree in your living room doesn't necessarily mean it's Christmas. Or you're thinking of repainting your house to match the plywood covering your windows. Or at cocktail parties, women are attracted to men with the biggest chainsaw.

Or, the ultimate indicator, when someone comes to your door to let you know they found your roof.

We seem to be having that wind problem in Southern Indiana too......

Note to anyone in the gulf coast area.

Please keep your warm air down there, and quit sending it up here. It is winter here, and we are tired of your hot air pushing it's way up here and disrupting our frigid climate with twisting air!

We have by accident, amassed some large areas of housing units called Twisting Wind Magnets. The Wind comes in the form of a tornado on land. These magnetic housing areas can be identified by large groupings of rectangular shaped metal covered boxes. Also known as "Tossabouts."
These are the same magnetic devices that hurricanes seek out, and FEMA passes out like candy. FEMA also parks the magnetic homes in areas that are prone to draw twisting wind back to the area-as soon as possible for more activity. If you identify a large group of tossabouts in the vicinity of any stick built neighborhood, please make note of the streets in those areas. You will have a future opportunity to contact the residents of the stick built homes for financing after the twisting wind destroys them on it's way to the magnetic housing area.

Here are some other observations one makes when living in a hurricane zone:

Trees look four times bigger on the ground then they did standing up.

No matter how hard the wind blows, roadside political campaign signs will survive.

Gasoline is a bargain at any price.

Red lights at intersections are remembered with fondness.

People buying Florida houses now check closets for legroom.

Don’t play skip rope with downed power lines.

Candlelight is better than Botox when it comes to taking years off your appearance.
