Interesting article in the Times today (http://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/25/realestate/25cov.html)
Always blanched when Realtors pitched the “American Dream” bit but then, of course, we do pitch the rent (ugh!) versus own (good). This article points out something we’ve all known about housing markets that aren’t appreciating in the double digits.
Maybe we’ll have to pitch a little less “pie in the sky” from now on. |

It seems like every time I want a beach life, I look around my affordable "green acres" in landlubber central ohio valley and remind myself:
"There's no place like home"
(then I click the heels of my pink New Balance tennis shoes together, and remember I only owe half as much as what I can sell it for!)
I love water, I love sand, I miss the great lakes area, the SE coasts. But, I can go visit anytime, besides- I'm in a slow growth area, and I feel secure knowing people from the other areas-feel secure here. How many times can someone tell another-
I live in an area that is the 12th largest metoplex in the US, and we still know how to greet people with:
"Eh"
"Howdy"
"Hello"
"Who's there?" (meaning they knock on the door, and come in! while you greet them from where ever you are in the house!) |
