Hello everyone! Welcome to the Mortgage Forum.

I would like to get to know all of you better. I'll start...

My name is Nick. I am from far Northern California, about 2 hours south of the Oregon border. I am 31 years old, and have lived in the same area all of my life. I have three children, ages 10, 6, and 2. I have been divorced twice, and currently live with the mother of my youngest child, and I complain about her constantly LOL! I live 17 miles outside of a decent sized city (100,000), but consider myself in the boonies. My hobbies include travelling, skiing, boating, hiking, reading, and most anything outdoors. I am a shameless flirt, and I am rarely serious. I think that life is funny, and I spend most of my time laughing about it. I have been selling home mortgages for about a year now. I sold cars before this.

Who's next?

I love Tim Hortons. We don't have them down here in Atlanta, but that is one of my fond memories of my trip to Nova Scotia. I have 3 cats.

Good Morning All,

My name is Kevin. My girlfriend and I relocated to Dayton, Ohio late last year from St. Louis, Missouri. I have been in banking for a number of years, but just ventured into Mortgage Banking last year. I work for a locally owned bank here in Dayton. The bank is one of the largest mortgage lenders in our area. I am not married now, but will probably be in the near future. I am 36 soon to be one year older.

Being relatively new I scan the "Vine" for marketing tips, etc. mainly, but have not posted anything over there. I found this site yesterday, by William redirect of Becca's picture. I am really glad i did. The information William provides is very helpful and I thank you for it.

I look forward to talking with everyone.

Thanks

May as well push this back up to the top where people will see it!

Is there anything you people don't know about me? I'll give you the edited version. I live in Indy, yes I go to the 500 race. I'm in my 40's, Married to a wonderful man for 12 years. I don't have kids-couldn't have them by the time I got married, it was too late! I love animals, my Sister's kids, and about any kid I meet. my hobby-hmmmm I like to play with dirt and flowers in the summer. Drive my hubby nuts!!!! (I like to walk, I got lazy, and need to get back to it!) I'm into politics, and try to be an active member of my township. In this city, townships are like little cities, and we have cities inside of the indy city limits. (yes-very community strong part of the state) I try not to press my personal political views on people, as I have never voted a straight ticket in the general election.

I've been a vineaholic since it started. I've met a lot of wonderful people there. I try to see other's points of view, which sometimes comfewes the hell out of people. I have a very DRY sense of humor, so don't take offense to it. (my boss told me yesterday that most of mine goes right over my coworkers heads? )

I hate pictures of myself, as I have big blue eyes-and all you ever see is my eyes in most pictures! I'm too friendly according to most people who know me well.

I've played with credit fraud, been an investor, abstractor, LO, Mortgage Broker/Owner, DD and QC "freak" for SIB, and since Lehman shut us down when they bought us-I came back to writing loans. (It's flex hours, and I come and go out of the office unless we need "floor coverage") I work for a man I used to work for when I first started originating. He's a nice guy who intimidates everyone who doesn't know him well. (Which is pretty funny somedays when people actually think he's mad at them, and he's sitting in his office laughing at them!) Wait a minute-he accuses me of having a dry sense of humor?

But..the professional short version is:
1. I closed 250 million loan volume in 2004 and 198 million in 2003
2. 90% of my business originated from buying internet leads from 10 sources and then getting referrals from these leads..I have been told I know the skinny on the mortgage biz....I get an average of one referral per closed loan...what a county!
3. Nobody owns me....I own my company.. a small LLC....and I have been doing this since I was a Senior in college 22 years ago in Illinois...at that time I was at a national Finance company as a manager and then after graduation at a local Savings and Loan as an AVP....for 4 years..then a manager/ SVP at a national Bank...and since 1994...my own companies...I am a professionally trained mortgage banker....and I do some commercial...but mainly purchase transactions for subprime.....and Conventioanl FNMA...I will close refi's but prefer purchases....since I have over 100 leads a day to "cream the crop"..and cherry pick the big loans in maybe HI,MN,WI or Co..I am licensed in 9 states..(that's more than enough! )....purchases are what I scope....because they tend to close............ I have always been a top producer....
4. I teach a class once a month to anyone anywhere who wants to come here to learn what I do...when I want and feel like doing it...and I have helped many viners over the past 3 years....
5. I am married my second time for 7 perfect years....she is an amazing woman...I am blessed..and set in life... I have a 14 year old daughter from my first marriage....that is why I live in the Midwest.....my ex moved here with my kid......I prefer to have an oceanview... :D
6. I am originally from a small distant Chicago burb..but I 8) 8) had the city to play in.... I now travel the world for pleasure and to learn more about myself and the world....I like honesty, comedy, exercise, health, quality, fine wine, art, history, culture, making tons of money and to spend more time with intelligent upbeat people.....but I like all people....everybody has a gift .....just look for it...ya putz! :D

Perhaps I can help someone here...and have some fun! We shall see.....

Ciao,

Proman 8)

I am not ready to come out of the closet yet. However, Shortcake I will be passing by you in July of this year. Haven't decided whether to drive or to fly to Detroit and rent a car. Am headed back for my 45th High School Reunion. That should give you a clue as to my age. Did my first (out of pocket) loan in 1962 and did my first conforming loan in 1965. And, I've just got to keep trying until I get it right.

I believe some of you know who I am for those few others, my name is Jason and am 26 years of age. I have been in the business for 5 years and am opening my own shop come March 15 2005. I am a little overzealous in my knowledge but I believe that I have a right to be.

I am full of sayings and use them whenever possible. My 3 favorites are:

1 Shit happens.

2 Fuck it.

3 Live YOUR life the way YOU want to not to the standards and expectations of other.

If I offend you with a post, I am preemptively saying I apologize, but get over it I am just speaking my mind. If I screw up in the morning, I blame it on coffee or lack there of. If I screw up in the later of the day I blame it on not having enough time. If I screw up any other time I blame it on you for aggrevating me. JK]\

I have a lot of knowledge (anyone who has talked to me will back me) and love to share it.

Last thing, Giving respect earns respect, expecting respect gets you stabbed in the back.

Oh oh, me me!

If you missed my signature at the bottom, I am the ever so humble Travis Halwachs. I can pretty safely say that there are no others of me in the world. Yup, that's right. Know how I know? This place would blow up if there were two people as smart, good looking, and totally insane as me!

Seriously though, I'm 25 (well, almost...not close enough for those dang car rental companies!) and I've been doing this for a year now. I live here in the wonderfully exotic (crappy) town of Springfield, IL. I am an employee (Eeek! W2!) at Wells Fargo who I just joined a few months back, and I'm finding it to be quite nice indeed. Big change of pace from the ol' broker life, which in this area really really stinks. (Yes, I did take the easy way out to get here. Of course now I have to do deals all over the country, go figure!)

Personally I'm single, and have been for a while. Too busy to find me that nice young lady that isn't totally psycho, isn't after my money (hahaha) and can carry on a conversation longer than "Like, oh my god!" I have a cat, and boy does she run the house. If you have a cat, and it's a female, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN! I'm moving this month 2 blocks from the best park in the city (yes, yes, thank you!) and it's going to be awesome.

Fun fact about me! I used to edit books for a publishing company. No, I'm not telling you where, what it was, or how long I was there. I'm only stating that I'm in there. Somewhere.

What else can I say....

Oh! I generally prefer women that are a bit older than I am (mostly just the sampling of where I live though) so if you happen to know any single women...HOOK A BRUTHA UP!!!

Ok ok, I'm done for now, but look for our hero in our next installment of Superhero's Anonymous!
